Domestic shorthair cat in Southampton looking for a new home

Hope, a three-year-old domestic short hair, arrived at the centre as a stray, severely emaciated and needing urgent veterinary care.

Although now doing much better and settling in well at Blue Cross, she is in need of finding a home where she can show off her adventurous side and explore the great outdoors.

The team at the Blue Cross in Southampton said that Hope can be a sensitive cat when she first meets people.

However, once she gets to know new people, Hope is full of character and ‘chatters away about her day’ whilst enjoying some gentle head strokes and a little fuss.

Hope also loves to play and is showing signs that she will make an excellent hunter once she has the space to do so.

Ideally, her new owners will be confident and experienced with cats and live in a location where she will have space to safely roam and put her playful cat skills into practise.

Due to not liking being over-handled, Hope would be best suited to an adult-only home with no other cats and dogs.

Ellie Stansfield, Assistant Manager at Blue Cross in Southampton, said: “Hope is a beautiful girl who is full of so much character and charm.

“It has been incredibly rewarding to see her transformation during the time that she been with us – she arrived at the centre as an underweight stray, but is now a bright, happy girl and will make a perfect, fun companion for her new owner.”
