Taking place on Southampton Common, an array of 80s stars – including The Human League, level 42, and Jason Donovan – took to the stage to entertain fans in attendance.

Music lovers young and old dressed in fancy dress and 80s attire to cover the park in a sea of colour.

The Human League, once described by David Bowie as “the future of music,” headlined the vent, with the Brit Award winners delighting fans with some of their most notable songs – Don’t You Want Me, Mirror Man, (Keep Feeling) Fascination, and Together in Electric Dreams.

Doctor and the Medics opened the show before former Neighbours actor turned singer, Jason Donovan, entertained fans in the Southampton sunshine.

Donovan was followed by China Crisis, who belted out their UK top 10 hit, Wishful Thinking.

Altered Images and Kim Appleby made memorable appearances at the all-day gig, which started at 11am before concluding at 10.30pm in the evening.

During the day, there was a brief interlude from bands taking to the stage as Pat Sharp and Harriett Scott went head-to-head in a DJ battle.

Black Lace brought some fun to the party – dressed in their green floral shirts – with the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest entrants singing their most memorable tune, Agadoo.

“Agadoo doo doo, push pineapple, shake the tree,” could be heard reverberating around Southampton Common.

Peter Hook & The Light performed World in Motion while the England Euros match against Switzerland was happening – perhaps a good omen as the three lions made it through to the semi finals.

EXTC and From The Jam took to the stage before Level 42 donned some floral shirts of their own.

The jazz-funk band formed on the Isle of Wight in 1979, and took fans back to the 80s with their UK top 10 hit, Lessons in Love.

The Human League brought an end to proceedings in what had been a day-long blast from the past.
